Previously, on Christmas in the Commercial Archives

We watched commercial blocks from the December 15, 1986 NBC airing of Mickey’s Christmas Carol, cried over a McDonald’s commercial, and saw promos for movies and specials that aired that week.

And this week, now ten days before Christmas, we’re going to do the same thing again!

We’re going to once again visit December 1986, where we’re watching CBS (WCBS 2 New York, to be exact), and that year’s showing of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!,” which was 20 years old that year.

In this installment:

Ronald McDonald shows us yet another reason why the 1980s were fun.

I mean, check out those dance moves!

Fred and Barney put their differences aside to break bread…or eat bowls of Pebbles cereal.

“Tis the season to be sharing, Fred!”

They’ll do this for many more years.

Snuggle Bear!  And his cold, dead eyes.

“Mmmm, snuggly soft!”

And the Jordache girl…who’s not getting stuck with this guy…for the night.

“TAXI!”

Plus, we’ll see promos for the December 18, 1986 episode of The Twilight Zone (“The Road Less Traveled”) and the December 19, 1986 episode of Scarecrow and Mrs. King (“Santas’ Got A Brand New Bag”).

Oh and Twas The Night Before Christmas was on next.

And for the 80s babies in the audience, a quick promo for the animated Teen Wolf series, as well as Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.

All that and more, waiting for you when you click play!

And do come back next Thursday, when we revisit the archives of 30 years ago one more time, for more commercial blocks from the magical year of 1986.

What commercial breaks will we look at next time?  You’ll see!
